Tier One Global Carrier Leverages Vertek Project Management to Coordinate Migrations of Large Centrex Deployments to Hosted Voice Solution

IP and TDM Voice Expertise Key in Choosing Vertek

Colchester, VT – June, 2014 – A Tier One global carrier was currently migrating large Centrex implementations to next generation Hosted IP based Voice services. The scope of the project entailed thousands of end points and significant levels of activity. The carrier needed assistance fast from an experienced telecommunications solutions partner capable of coordinating these migrations.

It was a challenge to find a partner who understood what was needed to get a migration of this size and complexity accomplished, and, as importantly, was able to do it. However, Vertek provided the carrier with the services of its centralized Project Management Services team – a team with the necessary domain and customer experience focus, as well as sufficient resources to handle the scope of the project. The team leveraged its project coordination capabilities and applied effective project management principles to shorten timelines, lower costs and enhance the quality of the customer experience.

Vertek established a comprehensive project plan for each customer that involves many organizations, partners and the end customer.  The Vertek team set expectations and managed communications and ownership of all project elements. The team constantly monitored the project, provided status updates to both internal carrier management and stakeholders and managed activations.

Through proactive management, Vertek ensured that service delivery met or exceeded the carrier’s expectations. The Project Management team provided continuous improvement of systems and dates, and met or exceeded start/end dates and key milestones. The project was completed on time and within budget, and the carrier was given an objective summary evaluation of its internal processes and an independent assessment of its performance capabilities.  Vertek continues to perform this work as new migrations are identified.
