Complete Turn-Key or À la Carte Operation to Deliver and Support Carrier Services
COLCHESTER, VT, May 12, 2012 – Vertek Corporation, an innovative solution provider that combines in-depth operations consulting, business intelligence, BPO and software capabilities to solve key telecommunications business problems for the telecommunications industry, announced today that it has launched a new Vertek Telecom Lifecycle Management (VTLM) set of services specifically for managed service providers (MSPs), communications service providers (CSPs) and large enterprises looking to outsource the function of delivering and coordinating carrier services. Services include CSP vendor management, network service availability and quoting, order handling, test & turn-up and financial assurance. Vertek clients can package all functions for a turn-key delivery or can take advantage of individual components based on their individual needs.
“As CSPs, MSPs and large enterprises hurry to provide next generation business applications, they have found that controlling the network access as part of the overall solution is essential to providing quality services,” states Al Brisard, VP of Marketing and Business Development for Vertek. “Our VTLM services address this urgent need with a level of experience and efficiency that would take years to replicate.”
The components of Vertek’s Telecom Lifecyle Management include:
Whether reselling carrier services as part of a managed service suite or purchasing services directly for an enterprise organization, CSPs, MSPs and large enterprises need to have favorable contracts with many providers to ensure wide geographic coverage, including a broad service set. Vertek handles these strategic vendor relationships on behalf of its clients, managing vendor sourcing through contracting to lifecycle. Services include determining feasibility of business relationships, negotiating vendor contracts, identifying and rolling out key processes and measuring and monitoring service level agreements (SLAs). The Vertek Vendor Management service can also be responsible for establishing strong vendor relationships with effective escalation paths and handle the consequences of change on behalf of its clients.
A time-consuming activity most MSPs, telecom resellers and large enterprise clients face is determining service availability and associated pricing for carrier services. Obtaining this information in a timely manner is critical to winning the business or optimizing the network. Based on what managed services or other needs the end users are interested in, clients must establish what services are available at every customer or branch office address. They can then recommend the best managed services for each situation. Clients need to know all the cost elements they are contracting for in order to determine what the desired services will cost the end user. Vertek provides its clients with all this information quickly and accurately.
Placing and managing orders with hundreds of carriers requires deep telecom expertise, order orchestration systems, processes and strong vendor relationships to be effective and efficient. Vertek’s VTLM service delivers all this for the client across all variants of network services with scale and economic benefits.
Test and Turn-up
Once network connectivity has been ordered the circuit itself needs to be validated and then key LAN applications or managed services need to be activated. This activation requires coordination of field services and validation of their work real time prior to them leaving the site. Vertek Test and Turn-up capabilities include highly experienced network technicians using purpose built software tools and processes designed to facilitate any type of test and turn-up requirements. By leveraging Vertek’s test and turn-up services, clients are free to refocus their resources on critical business functions to stay competitive.
It is probable that at some point in time billing conflicts will arise between every MSP, CSP or large enterprise client and one or more of its vendors regarding invoices. Success and scale in reselling or purchasing carrier services will also mean that invoice management and cost control can quickly become unmanageable. Vertek’s financial assurance is SaaS based and automates invoice/cost management, proactively identifies issues and conflicts and provides web based client access to rapidly manage and resolve the conflicts.
“We’re pleased to be offering this combined set of services to CSPs MSPs and enterprises,” Brisard concludes. “By leveraging Vertek’s highly experienced team of professionals in the areas of carrier negotiation, quoting, order handling, solution activation, financial assurance and overall project management, we will handle key operational functions for our clients, enabling them to more quickly deploy network connectivity, managed services and new applications without involving internal resources that are better utilized running other areas of their businesses.”
