IT Systems and Security Analyst

Job Description:

The IT Systems and Security Analyst role is responsible for providing IT/IS service delivery support. Support technicians at this level are responsible for troubleshooting and analyzing problems ranging from low to moderate complexity. Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT service desk coverage and works with security operations to perform incident response activities
  • Performs coverage, analysis and recommendations to service-generated alerts and peers as necessary
  • Perform systems and security administration related duties of basic to medium complexity
  • Assist in managing and maintaining software licensing records – ensures integrity of all records relating to software licenses purchased.
  • Ensures day-to-day compliance with corporate information security polices
  • Serve as tier 1 contact with network connectivity problems and issues.
  • Document IT systems and security solutions and procedures as needed
  • Installs/Configuration/Hardening of end-user equipment
  • Regular maintenance, vulnerability and patching routines for workstations and server infrastructure
  • Creates or update service and process documentation as required
  • Assists in new employee IT orientation, security awareness training actives, and set-up related services as necessary

Qualifications:

  • IT certifications and 2-5 years service desk experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

Security Operations Center (SOC) Engineer

Job Description:

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Performs security service deployments, service tuning, security upgrades and service enhancements
  • Performs threat hunting activities, develops custom IOC’s, custom service plugins and reports as necessary
  • Work as part of a security team to analyze and respond to security alarms
  • Perform Incident Response (IR) activities and provides threat remediation guidance as necessary
  • Monitors and analyzes weekly and monthly security KPIs and reports
  • Prepares and delivers readouts as necessary for clients, key projects or service deliverables

  • Creates or updates MSSP service and process documentation as required

Qualifications:

  • Security certifications and 5-10 years of IT security experience
  • Experience with adversary tactics and techniques (threat models and methodologies used)
  • Experience in risk management and industry compliance frameworks
  • Experience with SIEM/IDS/Vulnerability Scanning, Threat Feeds
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task

Telecom Provisioning Engineer

Job Summary:

The Provisioning Engineer I (PE) provides a combination of customer management and operational support related services to client projects involving advanced and core IP technologies. Provisioning Engineers are responsible for the delivery of provisioning and order management services which encompass one or more of the following areas: coordinating all aspects of a service order, interconnection and/or transport request; conduct order planning and tracking, perform turn-up (setting up port, configuring router and testing). Provisioning Engineers manage the customer experience as they move through the activation of their network service. They ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lend high quality support to Vertek Projects as required through performance of one or more of the following functions and duties:
  • The PE may be required to provide training and technical support to clients at customer sites.
  • Coordinate telecommunications service delivery related duties as required.
  • Support projects as required by tracking new service and transport orders encompassing a range of technologies from legacy to emerging/advanced.
  • Interface with multiple parties (customers, vendors, carriers or adjoining disciplines) to ensure smooth flow of communication between all stakeholders in support of project objectives.
  • Serve as single-point of contact for the end customer on provisioning projects.
  • Manage the delivery of QA related services as needed, serving as a checks and balance to ensure the integrity of client / project information.
  • Research and validate customer data to fulfill project deliverables in both internal and external systems.
  • Serve as a liaison with other organizational teams and functions as required (i.e. sales, provisioning, billing, customer care, etc.)
  • Perform data entry into internal and external databases as required.
  • Deliver project documentation, including technical diagrams and configurations.
  • Maintain regular contact and communication with the customer as assigned to attain necessary information or provide updates on progress to other team members.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for others as required. Use judgment in determining escalation requirements to internal management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Core IP technology (addressing, routing, etc.)
  • VPN / MPLS / SD-WAN / Cloud technologies working knowledge
  • Working knowledge or firewall, security and CoS
  • Data and/or Voice Expertise (preferably both)
  • Telecommunications project management
  • Customer Service Skills
